Let's create a meaningful and impactful solution for youth. Through partnerships, collaboration and a collective will, we can bring the Multi-Service Housing Centre to life.

Every young person deserves to dream big and choose their own unique path!

Many youth in our community face barriers and needs that continue to grow outside of their control, creating challenges including limited access to safe, appropriate, affordable housing, lack of access to physical and mental health supports, poverty and rising inflation, and much, much more.

For over 35 years, Phoenix has been listening to, learning from, and supporting youth. Now, with partners we will make it easier for youth to access resources and supports they need and deserve.

Housing is a human right in Canada. Everyone should have access to housing that is right for them.

The Youthful Cities' 2022 report found Kjipuktuk/ Halifax to be the most expensive city for youth to live.

Each year Phoenix supports more than 700 individual youth with wrap-around services, including housing support.

Our mission

To create an active youth housing and services space that strengthens the wellbeing of each young person who enters.

Our vision

Every youth in Kjipuktuk/Halifax has the supports they need and a dignified place to call home.

Our values

Support the wellbeing and dignity of each young person.

Create a place that provides safe, affordable, and dignified housing with the benefit of wrap-around support for youth.

Provide integrated services through multiple Phoenix teams and other partners that believe every young person has endless potential and a right to supports.

Provide culturally responsive, accessible, inclusive services to youth and their families.

When a community works together, change is possible

This vision was born from the hopes, needs, and strengths of youth, staff and community. The MSHC will include many partners who come together to offer dignified, wrap-around supports that youth seek and deserve. It's a real solution that will have long-term impacts on youth and families that is only possible through community.
